Established by Luis Sanz Busto, the Dehesa de los Canónigos winery launched its first vintage on the market in 1989. Originally an agricultural estate owned by the clergy in its beginnings, the various awards and consumer opinion have made the winery over the last 30 years in one of the most prestigious wine brands in Ribera del Duero. A farm that belonged to the Lecanda family -together with Vega Sicilia- and was the first vineyard replanted in Spain, after the phylloxera disease, with vine patterns brought from California.
Dehesa de los Canónigos stands out for taking maximum care of the quality and exclusivity of its wines, which is why it sells a maximum of 250,000 bottles, made only with grapes from its own vineyards. The location of the estate, nestled in the heart of the Ribera del Duero, is the ideal environment (microclimate, orientation, terroir, etc.) that provides excellent grapes.
The quality of the wine is determined by the strict selection of the fruit, in a harvest that is carried out by hand and that later goes to the selection table, where finally only the grapes that present a uniform appearance and are in optimal conditions of maturation are chosen. .
