Bodega Matarromera is heir to a privileged vineyard in one of the most unique regions of the Ribera del Duero, dedicated to the production of large reserves, reserves, crianza and also whites, with total personality and excellent quality. His wine is the result of the perfect combination of natural creativity and the stubbornness of humanity to restore family traditions, collect and continue heritage.
To understand the present and the future of Matarromera, you must look to the past. This brings us closer to the family of Carlos Moro and the legacy he left him, transmitting all the knowledge and love for the vineyard inherited from generation to generation. The ancestors of Carlos Moro planted vineyards on the banks of the Duero (Ribera del Duero), thus following the ancient traditions. His passion for wine came especially from his grandparents, his parents Ursicino and Consolación, who grew grapes and made their own wines in Olivares and Valbuena de Duero in Valladolid, which is now known as the "Golden Zone" of the Ribera del Duero. It was his own father, Ursicino Moro, who proposed that Pago de Matarromera install a winery there. This is a great success because this place has a special strength. The winery is located in the center of the Ribera del Duero, its warehouse is half-buried on the north slope of the Duero Valley and offers beautiful views of the river.
