Marqués de Murrieta is a winery with more than 160 years where the deep respect for history and tradition finds a perfect balance with its continuous commitment to the future.
Its origins date back to 1852 when Luciano de Murrieta y García –Lemoine manages to produce the first fine wine from La Rioja and export it outside our borders for the first time – then acquires Finca Ygay and builds its emblematic Castillo de Ygay. It is in 1983 when the witness is picked up by Vicente Cebrián Sagarriga, Count of Creixell, and after his death in 1996, by his children, who are currently responsible for such an ambitious and endearing family project, strengthening day after day their presence in the different continents.
