Along with 2008, the 2013 vintage was the second great sweet wine of the millennium, extraordinary in quality and quantity.
The production of Aszú wine (free-run wine) is a meticulous process, requiring great patience and extensive knowledge. It is only possible in good vintages, when nature provides rain in late summer and a sunny, windy period in early autumn—essential conditions for the development of fine grapes. The berries, swollen with moisture, crack, Botrytis cinerea takes hold on their skin, and noble rot begins.
