Mombasa, located in front of the Island of Zanzibar, was where the first private social club was created; the mythical Mombasa Club, founded in 1885, where they began to serve their Mombasa Club gins & tonics, for which they used an exclusive gin from England, distilled and bottled to serve their members.
Today Mombasa Club is still a Premium London Dry type gin, maintaining its formula created at the end of the 19th century.
