In the northernmost part of the Rioja Alavesa, with a transitional climate between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, is the Sierra de Toloño.
In its skirt are the valleys of Valderemelluri, La Granja and Villaescusa. They are stepped terraces that descend towards the Ebro. The origin of the Remelluri Farm is lost in the mists of time.
