Demerara AñejoEl Dorado 12 Years Old is a blend of rums aged for a minimum of 12 years and produced in wood and metal stills. In El Dorado they have three stills, one Coffey made of wood with 250 years of continuous use and unique in the world, a second wooden still (and copper lid) and finally a Savalle still.
El Dorado rums are produced to the highest standards and comply with international regulations on age declarations. Therefore, the age in the bottle refers to the age of the youngest rum in the blend, although the oldest may be many more years old.
Since 1670 in Guyana, Ron El Dorado has been produced strictly from molasses from local sugar factories. Through a fairly complex production method.
A style of stills in which they store their rum, they are called Coffey, which are the best known in the world for Irish whiskey and some gins. At El Dorado they have three alembics, a wooden coffey with 250 years of continuous use and unique in the world, a second wooden alembic as well (and a copper lid) and finally a Savalle alembic, which is a continuous distillation style.
