James Fleming founded Aberlour Distillery in 1879 and chose a location that not only provided a secure supply of pure spring water that flowed over the pink granite of Ben Rinnes, but was also a place rooted in antiquity and its magical connection to it. Water.
The village of Aberlour is steeped in centuries of legends and is surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the Ben Rinnes Highlands. It is located in the heart of Speyside where the Burning of Lour meets the River Spey. The exceptionally pure and smooth spring water from which Aberlour whiskey is made comes from nearby natural springs. In this special place, the resources of nature and the founder's passion for producing the best single malt combine to create Aberlour's generous multi-layered whiskey.
